training Basic Life Support

We can suddenly encounter situations where someone becomes unwell or loses consciousness. In the Netherlands, for instance, 47 people experience a cardiac arrest outside of a hospital every day. How do you handle such situations? How does it affect you when someone needs help? Can you provide practical assistance, or do you rely on someone else to be more skilled than you?

Richard, who has been providing training within the Royal Netherlands Air Force alongside his work as an ambulance driver, offers you practical tools drawn directly from experience. The course is primarily hands-on, so you'll get to work actively. Richard teaches you to respond appropriately from a place of confidence, enabling you to apply what you learn directly in practice.

Is this course for me?

Most people call 112 directly when someone is experiencing serious symptoms. However, the ambulance has a maximum response time of 15 minutes. This means it can take some time before they arrive on the scene. Just imagine having to wait 10 minutes, knowing that every second counts.

Did you know that you can make a difference for both the patient and the responders by providing immediate and adequate help? When you know what to do, you can bring calm to the situation and ensure that the patient receives the best care at that moment. We also know that help sometimes arrives too late. You should feel empowered, knowing that, regardless of the outcome, you contributed to giving that patient the best chance.

Our Basic Life Support course is specifically designed for anyone who no longer wants to just stand by but wishes to learn how to apply BLS techniques in emergency situations. Whether you work in a high-risk environment, as a freelancer, as an informal caregiver, or simply want to increase your knowledge and confidence in providing first aid, this training is perfect for you.

how does the training look?

The course consists of three half-days, during which you will practice practical skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. Our small groups ensure a personalized learning experience, allowing for sufficient individual attention.

Included in the course are instructional materials and lunch, ensuring you have everything you need to learn effectively. We aim to provide a comfortable and stimulating learning environment so that you feel confident and well-prepared in case of emergencies.

Upon successful completion of the DAN Automated External Defibrillator course, you will receive a DAN AED Provider card. This card confirms that you are trained to provide first aid, both with and without an AED, to victims of cardiac arrest. The certification is valid for two years, ensuring you are up-to-date with the latest guidelines and protocols.
